Right in the middle of Western Kentucky, Princeton awaits your visit. Our community is centrally located less than a half hour's drive from a wildlife refuge and recreation area operated by the USDA Forest Service and from two state resorts built around lakes accessible for boating, swimming, fishing and other recreational opportunities. The community is home to numerous historic sites and viewing opportunities, including Adsmore Museum, the Amoss House Museum (a circa 1857 antebellum mansion), Newsom's Old Mill Store (home of the nationally renowned Col. Newsom's Aged Kentucky Country Ham), the Caldwell County Railroad Museum, Civil War traces, the Cherokee Trail of Tears and a downtown commercial district listed on the National Register of Historic Districts.

Princeton's history is tied to the traditions of rural America, with economic roots in agriculture and trade. Princeton is now home to the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture Research and Education Center, an on-farm/laboratory research operation established on about 1,300 acres of farmland in the county. This agriculture substation is headquarters for more than 50 UK faculty and staff researching agriculture from seed to furrow to the bank. The next College of Agriculture Field Day in Princeton will be in July of 2009.

In the Heart of the Black Patch, Princeton acknowledges the community and regional heritage through the annual Black Patch Festival each September and a recreation of the Night Rider era with tours from the Amoss House Museum in the spring and fall.

Princeton is the home of musician Eddie Pennington, a musician whose talents and national acclaim have taken him to stages across the U.S. and often to Washington, D.C., for the National Folk Festival. Eddie Pennington and his son, Alonzo Pennington, are both National Guitar Thumbpicking champions. The 11th annual Eddie Pennington Music Festival is slated here on June 5-7 on the Butler lawn in historic downtown Princeton.
Murals near the Courthouse Square tell of the community's heritage
A Sidewalk Market at Newsom's Old Mill Store attracts local residents and visitors
Eddie Pennington and son, Alonzo Pennington, are musicians with a national reputation. The community is preparing for the Eddie Pennington Folk Music Festival on June 5-7.
